What's on your work desk? Wednesday 462!

Morning! I managed to get a lot more done last week than I was anticipating considering that it was the start of the Easter holidays last week and also our little mans 4th birthday (not sure where that time has gone!). Hubby booked of most of last week so when we weren't preparing for the birthday celebrations of having family time I was able to get in some stitching. So on my work desk this week is the white work part of my penultimate box as I managed to complete the Black work section last week. I've even taken to staying up once the pup had woken us up for his breakfast (5.30am 😴) so get as much time in before little man woke as possible, and it's really paying off.  The Roses are using Ribbon work which I love embroidering (My friend Sophie Long has written a really good book on Ribbon work if anyone is interested in learning more). I will also be using a pulled work technique but the rest will be general embroidery stitches to keep it simple.

Below is the finished Black work which will be making up the door of the box, and the progress I've made on the box so far which cant be completed until the embroidery is finished.

Its still the Easter holidays this week but I am managing to get bits and pieces done here, especially written work (I'm taking a break so I actually get my post written in advance or it wont get done!) and there so hopefully I will have nearly completed the white work parts ready to complete the box next week when little man is back in pre-school.

I've also finalised the design for the last box, hopefully by the time I've finished the current box the Ribbons I've ordered will have arrived.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and hopefully I will have made plenty of progress on the penultimate box by this time next week! You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram!

Thanks for Visiting!

  9. Your blackwork is beautiful. I can't wait to see this box come together. I'm with you on getting up early - though I do it to get some stitching done before work. It's exhausting and liberating at the same time!
