What's on your work desk? Wednesday 464!

The ribbons finally arrived on Thursday!!! Well the replacement parcel did anyway...the other is lost somewhere within the Royal Mail probably never to be seen again! Luckily I still had plenty to do in the mean time so no harm done. Not the best photo, the middle colour is actually a dark purple! Can't wait to use them once the current box is finished, its still on my workdesk but hopefully it will be finished before I have to pick up little man on Thursday from his first pre-school trip!

I am so pleased with how this one is working out, definitely my favorite, hopefully the door on the other side will go smoothly and not give me too much of a headache! I made a start on the lock casing while I was waiting for the ribbon so just need to finish attaching the white Rabbit to the box later and then I can start working on the door. I have actually changed a small bit of the lock casing since this photo as I wasn't completely happy with it. The tops will also be covered with the white linen, I was waiting to see if there are big enough off cuts from the embroideries before covering them  rather than cutting into the big piece I have left.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and I'm sure I will have finished the penultimate box by this time next week and made a start on the final one, although we are away over the weekend so will have to see how much I can get done this week before we go! What's on your work desk? Wednesday 463!

Morning everyone, I got up early this morning to carry on working on my white work rabbit, I managed about half an hour before little man woke up, typical, so I'm now sat in bed typing this up while he watches cartoons for a bit. Still at least I managed to get all the couched thread secured on the back just his whiskers left to stitch.

I've managed to make more progress on this piece by getting up early with hubby so I hope the box will be nearly/completed by the end of this week. Unfortunately it seems as though the ribbons I ordered have been lost in the post as they are yet to arrive even though they were sent First class 😞 I have to phone the supplier back today once the post has been and they will send some more out recorded so hopefully the embroidery will only be at a standstill for a day or so. I'm secretly hoping they turn up after some more have been sent so I have some to play with after the book is done, or to do a giveaway with on facebook/Instagram to gain more followers which I plan to do anyway. At least I hadn't cut the card for the exterior of the box and the lock so I still have things I can prepare while I wait and if I somehow manage to get all that done before the ribbons arrive I can make a start on the final box so no real harm done as I want to be finished with the making by the beginning of May so I have a big chunk of time (which I know will fly by) to get the rest of book written (I've written about a 5th but that's still 10K words!).

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and hopefully I will have made finished the penultimate box by this time next week, depending on when the replacement ribbons arrive! You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram!

What's on your work desk? Wednesday 462!

Morning! I managed to get a lot more done last week than I was anticipating considering that it was the start of the Easter holidays last week and also our little mans 4th birthday (not sure where that time has gone!). Hubby booked of most of last week so when we weren't preparing for the birthday celebrations of having family time I was able to get in some stitching. So on my work desk this week is the white work part of my penultimate box as I managed to complete the Black work section last week. I've even taken to staying up once the pup had woken us up for his breakfast (5.30am 😴) so get as much time in before little man woke as possible, and it's really paying off.  The Roses are using Ribbon work which I love embroidering (My friend Sophie Long has written a really good book on Ribbon work if anyone is interested in learning more). I will also be using a pulled work technique but the rest will be general embroidery stitches to keep it simple.

Below is the finished Black work which will be making up the door of the box, and the progress I've made on the box so far which cant be completed until the embroidery is finished.

Its still the Easter holidays this week but I am managing to get bits and pieces done here, especially written work (I'm taking a break so I actually get my post written in advance or it wont get done!) and there so hopefully I will have nearly completed the white work parts ready to complete the box next week when little man is back in pre-school.

I've also finalised the design for the last box, hopefully by the time I've finished the current box the Ribbons I've ordered will have arrived.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and hopefully I will have made plenty of progress on the penultimate box by this time next week! You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram!
