What's on your work desk? Wednesday 442!

Apologies for being late this week and missing the last couple. I've been cracking on with my projects and had an awful cough cold last week!

So whats been happening on my work desk this week, mostly unfortunately due to the cough its been computer/paperwork writing instructions. Today though I'm finally starting to feel back to normal so I've been able to continue with my canvas based project. Those of you who have seen my last post will know that I had run of out the grey thread, unfortunately the replacement was a slightly different colour so I had to cut it all out and start the grey again, thankfully it didnt take too long. Sorry, not the best photo!

I've also been having a play with my new toy...an Overlocker which now I know how it works I love!

Today I've set up an improvised cord maker, bulldog clips and pencils! But I'm pretty happy with how the cord had turned out and am looking forward to sewing it on tomorrow! Sorry about all the crap, I need a bigger studio to work in really but needs must!

And here's the final cord with the almost finished project.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and I will have something interesting for you all to see next week, hopefully! You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram!

Thanks for Visiting!

Why don't you pop over to the lovely Julia's stamping ground http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/ and see more work desks it's great fun and very addictive!

  1. Hi Emma, I made an improvised cord maker,I came across the idea in a book on cord making. Basically you need one of the old( you can still buy them though) hand drills,a couple of brass hooks, and your threads. If you are interested, I did a post on it, which is about halfway down on my Techniques & Tools page, gives you clearer info.Love the colours you are using, I love green. Such a shame about the mismatching greys though. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 XxX

  2. The canvas looks great, I admire your patience with the unpicking and re-starting, just the sort of thing that makes me abandon a project! Your workspace looks no different to others, so you needn't apologise for the stuff!!

  3. Interesting post, I think a wool winder would do that job. I used to do a lot of machine knitting and the wool winder twists the very fine yarns together which could also make a cord. they are quite cheap to buy too. Though I have to say the finished piece looks lovely. Happy belated woyww, Angela x10x
